Amit shah was successful in 2014 with a Modi wave and rising support from Indian people to lead BJP to a massive victory. Post national elections, he lost two major battles in heavily BJP states. Not only did he lose those elections, he lost them badly, from a strong contender to a total disaster. Those states show that losses were not only political losses but they compounded by a complete inability to control message before and during the campaigns. He showed no ability to anticipate opposition's moves and come up with any sensible solution. (Cricket equivalent to Amit shah is Captain Dhoni of overseas series - white wash after whitewash).

Amit Shah leadership was absent to contain the rise of BJP extreme element in 2015. He showed no capability to handle a complex issue like HCU student suicide. BJP and Amit Shah should acknowledge that their past and present makes them weak on issues like anti minority (muslim/christian) issues and anti dalit (or anti reservation) issues. Even on the issue of corruption, which was the strength of BJP in 2014, his role was not helpful in DDCA corruption issue. His meeting with Kirti Azad came out as a threat to his own party MP to cover up alleged misdeeds of Arun Jaitley.

2016 has state elections in Assam, Kerala, and WB. If BJP loses Assam in a one sided election like Delhi and Bihar, Amit shah should take responsibility and resign. Kerala and WB - BJP can only improve.

2017 UP elections. But most of the ground work needs to be done in 2016. UP elections also tells us about future of Indian govt.
That is the final test for Amit shah and a huge test for Modi.

2016 is going to be a politically difficult year for Modi and BJP. If India can step up economic growth, BJP may find the going getting easy in 2017. UPA and congress (in their self preservation interest) will do what ever they can do to obstruct Modi from revving up Indian economic growth including delaying land acquisition laws and GST (Goods and services Tax) laws. It is Modi's responsibility to work around expected selfish opposition's obstacles.

Why and how a suicide of a university student = that too in a far away Hyderabad a central subject ?

There are 3 college girls committed suicide in TN. did any of the Netas or Ghar Wapsies even talk about it or blame the center for that ? Even in Rohiths case, the people who criticized BJP and Modi have simply disappeared once questions about Rohith's SC status became a question mark.

Education is a state subject and law enforcement is a state subject. Dragging BJP, Center, or Modi is nothing but duplicitous.

P.S. Amit is the only friend left for Modi...UP will be decisive for Modi.

just for clarification. HCU is a central university (unless something changed in the last decade). It is under HRD (Smriti Irani). Rightly or wrongly Dattatreya was involved (his letters relate to the individuals involved in this tragedy).

BJP leaders were like bulls in china shop on this issue talking about the guilt of the suspended students when the public is emotionally empathizing with the guy who committed suicide. They had no perception of public mood and who to field to answer questions. Congress acts similarly on corruption deny, deny, deny, slowly relent to agitations with minor concessions (weak investigations) and then accepting commissions by supreme court and ordering CBI inquiry.

BJP's blind spots are responding to issues related to muslims and upper caste attitude towards dalits and reservations (it can be seen even on this board - disparaging jokes about dalits), while congress's blind spot is corruption as in see no corruption, hear no corruption and talk not about their corrupt core.

BJP will restrict itself to western and northern Indian states if it fails to learn from its past mistakes.
