I think she was the smart one. She married a celebrity to get publicity for her talents and was willing to be somewhat Sikular in bed with him until she became a celebrity herself. Once she realized that the old guy was not that useful, she dumped him.

dammit, hope there is much more to the book than all the excerpts carefully being thrown around. I am buying it! Rushdie's book made me struggle, as in gave up after 2 paras, but I have a feeling I am gonna like this one.

enchantress of Florence. I gave up after 2 para... then next time I attempted it, I read up a little bit of background on what or where it is about. I think I lasted 3-4 pages that time. maybe will try again.
