I talked to you a friend of mine and this is what he said .
the proof is in the pudding.
the financial situation of AP is not as bad as being projected by babu.
none of the freebie populist schemes like free engg education to all , cheap rice etc were affected. in fact more were added like loan waiver , sankranthi freebies and so on.
the salaries for the employees were raised by close to 50 percent and at par with other states. the salaries of MLAs and MLCs also raised substantially to above 2 laks a month. and unnecessary spending like 5 CM offices , 4 camps etc . temporary secretariat is being built at cost of 1000 crores . 1000 crores! pure wastage.
so the poor are not affected and enjoy their frrebies . the government employees are enjoying increased salaries and perks , there no new taxes on middle classes and the politicians are enjoying spending the people's money on themselves.
in fact there is no difference in lifestyle or benefits for citizens of the rich state telengana or supposedly poor AP after the state was split. and all these not because of some great management by babu or increase in the government income because of any of the steps taken by him . he is giving a poor picture of the financial status with a vested interest. his plan is to say that things are worse than they are really now and when elections come , to appear as a savior who turned the state around .
