U.P. and A.P. farmers: Done in by cash crops

So the problem with respect to cash crops is shared by both U.P. and A.P. farmers but then why are A.P. (and Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, etc.) farmers killing themselves in much larger numbers?

--> i don't have a definitive answer yet. i have not studied the problem seriously. when i do i shall get back to you. meanwhile, this looks like an interesting book on this issue:
