** not sure how missing work increases work-place visibility. you lose a day's opportunity to improve your skills and the day's salary, and you look bad compared to the woemn who show up. just not a good idea.

If only the people who boycotted buses in Montgomery had access to this sage counsel, we would still have those extra water fountains and toilets in the South.

what rubbish. how does a woman plan on becoming a corporate leader by missing a day at work? I don't support this kind of idiocy. my work ethic is not going to be swayed by the ever- changing political winds.

how many women at your workplace missed work? and the women in your family, did they miss work?

Some women in my team missed work today. Our policy was to allow anyone who wanted to take leave today to do so. These women utilized their paid leave to take a day off. If taking a planned day off is going to keep you from becoming a corporate leader, there may be something not right with the culture where you work.
