Does TV have to beam live the Prime Minister doing Aarti, Puja and Abhishek with milk, honey, ghee and whatever else at various temples, from Kashi Vishwanath to Somnath? What has the Indian "secular" state reduced itself to? Is it appropriate for TV to do this when polling is going on in Varanasi and other constituencies in UP?
Once election is over, will TV station itself at PMH to cover live Modi's daily Puja? As I write this, India Today TV is showing close up shots of the Shiv Ling in Somnath.
A beaming anchor with a local channel in Banaras told her viewers last week that "shatru par vijay panaa" was one among the many pujas done by Modi at Kashi Vishwanath.
I feel ill.

You forgot to include in the above rant about secularism the official use of religious laws in the country.
