Republicans now want to vote on their Mean Bill

Post by Idéfix on Mon Jul 24, 2017 2:40 pm

Trump called the House version of Obamacare repeal-and-replace a "mean" bill. He owned up to calling it mean (see the video below). Now Mitch McConnell is pushing ahead for a vote tomorrow on a motion to proceed to debate the Mean Bill.

First, the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, is expected to move ahead with a procedural vote as early as Tuesday to take up the health care bill that narrowly passed the House in May.

Fifty Republicans voted "yes" today on a motion to advance the Mean Bill to the next stage. It is not liberals calling this a "mean" bill. It is the predisent himself who called it a "mean" bill. But they all voted for it anyway.
