It is all by design. Without opiods how else can minimum wage workers cope with having to work much longer hours just to maintain the same living standards as before? Who cares if they work not one but 3 shitty jobs? Each of those counts as one job so Obummer could tout it as strong job growth.

Most of these people are not working even one job. I admit that a politician I supported and still support is liable for some of the blame, but I don't see you making ANY reference to the myriad GOP congressmen who were in cahoots with the drug industry who weakened the DEA's hand through unncessary legislation. This is a viper's nest that made huge profits at the expense of poor people. The drug industry, congress, a lax justice department and DEA, and former DEA agents who joined with the devil to weaken the very agency they once worked at -- all colluded and shafted poor Americans. That is the full picture. I only mentioned Obama in my post, because that's the unexpected player for me. The GOP congressmen and senators-- I fully expect them to screw people over; so they didn't even merit a mention.

Due to the excellent reporting by WaPo, the chief villain of the sordid opioid crisis, congressman Tom Marino has withdrawn his nomination to head the DEA. Well done WaPo! We need the press to speak truth to the Orange.
