Trump rejected TPP because Obama started the negotiations. Republicans abandoned their free trade principles and merrily supported him. Now the consequences of his stupidity come back to limit his options in the trade dispute that he chose to start with China.

This was entirely predictable. If you throw random tantrums and make a big show of going home with your toys, the next time you go out to play the other kids may not want to include you in their game.

It is very easy to do what Trump has been doing most of his life -- criticize experts who are navigating incredibly complex issues. Now he at the table where the buck stops, and his only response seems to be trying to kick away the buck.
