Many believe it is some strategic voting by democrats in these states to prolong the GOP race. Pundits say these kinds of voting by incumbent party members happen occasionally. Don't know how far it is true.

I may have bought this if Gingrich did better than expected... if I wanted to prolong the race, I would vote for Gingrich. He won big in SC and before Tuesday he looked in a better position to hold out until the convention. So I don't buy this theory.
