Hindus fought on the side of Muslims against Brits in India in the "first" war of independence in 1857 to put back a Muslim (Bahadur Shah Zafar) on throne (as the ruler) in Delhi, so it makes no sense in calling Hindus as a threat / danger to Muslim if Muslims and Hindus lived together.

There was also no evidence earlier of Hindus as a threat to Muslims, considering Muslims, arriving in India from the West in small bands (in groups of men only in hundreds or thousands) and after living and ruling India for a few centuries, had by 1940s grown in numbers (as Muslim population) on Indian Subcontinent to the same level (or even higher) as the entire Muslim population then (1940s) in the rest of world (including the countries from where the ancestors of Indian Muslims had moved to India).
