The Fukushima Daiichi reactors' meltdown following the powerful earthquake triggered tsunami was really the complete enactment of Murphy's Law to the extreme, "whatever can go wrong will go wrong."

But it's to the great credit of Japanese workforce (power plant engineers, technicians and other staff) that they managed this crisis smartly, courageously, quickly and with extreme dedication while putting their lives even in risk due to high levels of radiation all around and the uncertainty of further meltdown and structural blasts / explosions.

This accident has taught a lot to people everywhere (especially engaged in nuclear industry and policy making) with respect to the nature of extreme nuclear accidents and managing and taking care of them quickly and effectively.
