in Delhi this week, the loved and hated Mani Shankar Aiyar quipped that the only picture of Osama bin Laden released by the CIA looked uncannily like popular Sikh writer Khushwant Singh watching TV.

Unkil, the column raises an interesting question that surprisingly never came up in all the media chatter - during those critical 40 mins, what if the Paki military had mistaken the US mission for an Indian raid and scrambled their jets to bomb Amritsar or New Delhi?? We could have very well come to a near-nuclear exchange.

And yet, all you could find to comment about was some passing reference to Mani Aiyar?? Given how much you love Paki media, shouldn't you be a little kindlier to your fellow Paki-lover?

There you go - again. Shivering at the pakistanis. What if they do this and what if they do that.... You talk as though Pakis never knew about India and Pakis are the all powerful against the weaker Indians.

If the Pakistanis had scrambled the jets and bombed Amritsar...do you think India would have cried Alla-O-Akbar.

On the contrary...pakistan would have been carpet bombed into oblivion and the World would have applauded.

The truth is Pakistanis knew full well and must have called the Americans in panic, who would have to simply told them to look the other way or else...
