Hey c'mon ppl stop making fun of MBA's...when I was doing MBA, one of my classmates used to make fun of us by calling (Mandha Budhi Association!). Indian banking sys is diff than Amru.

QB..Since Amru Banks hava a lot of money, they don't need our money and it is a work load for them to maintain our money...so very less interest and charges for transactions.

Which banks charge for taking money out of and putting money back into a checking account? What exactly is that charge? Why?

I can think of only three occasions when withdrawing money from a checking account might result in a charge:

1. You use a non-free ATM.

2. You overdraw on your checking account.

3. I am not even sure of this - if you make some specialized withdrawal instrument like a Cashier's Check or Certified Check.

I cannot think of a single reason why depositing money, that too a large amount like $10,000 into a checking account would result in a transaction fee.

The $12 charge looks like wire transfer ...! Again...I don't know...my MBA unive is a very reg Idiyappam Paya ones. I am still working on getting an Amru MBA...but very expensive for me.

Wire transfer was within scope of my # 3 option above. But I still can't imagine being charged for a deposit, even if it is through the the wires.

Where was your MBA from? If your current MBA is considered legitimate in the US, I'd advice against getting an American MBA at this point. It will be too much cost for too little value. Trying to get an American MBA is a 'career management' move. Forget that. Instead, focus on managing your knowledge / experiences - step out of the comfort zone and take on something big and ambitious. That will automatically take care of your career.

I don't know of a single bank that charges money for making a deposit into a checking account.
