NCAA Hits Penn State With $60 Million Fine, Postseason Ban, Loss Of Scholarships And Wins

WAs watching the news in disbelief while filling out fall soccer forms for my daughter. Could not help but pause and think about her coaches and community sports in general. Paranoia central indeed!

They had to make an example out of Penn state and they did. It may also be an attempt by NCAA to cover their asses legally. Fair or not, this is the kind of penalty that can act as a deterrent.

With good intentions, the NCAA seems to be overreacting- seems excessive based on the the actions of a few people.

*There seems to be hypocrisy on the part of NCAA too..with plenty of loopholes..who will continue to benefit enormously from College Athletics.

Yes and No. Such hard punishments would deter any other college from doing the same. Would put fear in others and hopefully that should help.

Have no sympathy for what Penn State's leaders did to cover up crime of such proportions perpetuated for as long as it did. The pentalty, IMO is completely justified.
