Nitish Kumar vs. Narendra Modi
Nitish Kumar is taking a big risk in deciding to campaign in
Gujrat. He didn’t allow Modi to campaign in Bihar during the last election
(Gujjus will remember this during the Gujrat election) and his party isn’t
strong in Gujrat. If he succeeds in cutting Modi’s majority in Gujrat assembly,
his chances for the PM’s post will increase significantly and Modi will lose
his sheen. If, on the other hand, Modi routes JD(U) in Gujrat, Nitish will have
a big headache – BJP may withdraw support to the govt. in Bihar, may decide to
go alone in the 2014 election and project Modi as its candidate for PM.
In 2014:
The third front is not a viable option.
UPA may not do well.
So, where will Nitish go? To UPA?
BJP won’t do well, on its own. They need allies but
there are not many willing to oblige.
Jaya, Mamata, Patnaik, etc. – what will they do? I like Jay Panda of BJD; I think he will do
well as a central minister.
It is a shame that Kejriwal, Jayaprakashnarayan, etc., don’t
have wide support.
What will happen in 2014?

Just read in the news that Mulayam is talking to Mamata re. the formation of the third front (with him as the PM-candidate, obviously)! I suppose, Mamata will trust him and join CPM in the third front!!!

Someone in the news media is suggesting that Nitish is trying to help Modi by splitting the "secular" vote bank of CONwallahs in Gujrat! Hmm....
