Jokes aside, if this indeed is true then 2012 could be the saddest page in Indian cricket history, saw 3 legends retire.

His retirement is just a formality. In his level of play he is like a retired pensioner anyway. I sincerely wish he had done well and gone out on a high like Warne, Murali, McGrath, Kumble etc. His stubbornness and so called enjoyment of the game has come at a great cost to the team.

Much like a visting professor, Sachin should always be included in India's cricket team 11 for next 15 years.

Sachin should play against Netherlands, Kenya and also Mongolia (In 2021), just to give displays of 19th and 20th century cricket.

Great idea! The esteemed member of parliament should continue in the team as long as he "enjoys" the game. The great CK Nayudu played first class cricket till his 60's. 10dulkar can play international cricket (against Netherlands, Kenya, Afghanistan etc) till his fifties at least.

Wow, among other things this makes one feel really old. Remember seeing his as a 14 year old boy making cricket news, and not he has lived his career, made all his achievements and also retired
