I bet this cult has doctors, lawyers, scientists and may be even IIT/IIM grads nodding their heads and agreeing with whatever this man says.

are you saying that these IIT/IIM group is a different clo(wn)ne and do not fit into the 'doctors, lawyers, scientists' types ?

An IIT/IIM guy may do the same job as others. But most of the time he or she considers himself or herself special and more evolved in the thought process.

I know a man who has a B.Tech from IIT Madras and has a Ph.D in engineering from RPI.

He is an ardent devotee of Sathya Sai Baba. For some strange set of circumstances, this man has ended up doing software testing which did not require more than a high school education. He taught Upanishad on the weekends. In many of the classes, he used to say how brilliant he was in his pre-university course. He often brought up the fact that he went to IIT. The same guy believes that Sathya Sai Baba had the mystical powers and could materialize wrist watches made in Switzerland, linga etc. He also believed that the baba revived a couple of his devotees who died. He told the story of Sai Baba going inside a mortuary and after a few minutes came out with the man who was pronounced dead the previous day.

perhaps for those such delusions are the consequence of very structured training too focused only to perform in a predictable and ordered fashion - i.e., stuck in paradigms

This guy forgot that the Juvenile addressed her as sister and invited her (and her friend) to get into the bus, and that is why they both got into the bus. But, what is the point in talking to or about the "Dogmen".
