Which are the core and peripheral states of the Indian union ??

By core I mean the states which form the most loyalist part of the country--it is they
who sustain and hold the country together.......at any rate ,try to
hold it.........and have a high percentage of hindus ,naturally the most
loyal section of society.
By peripheral
,I mean those who are either outright separatist ,or have attempted
separation in the past ,or have a high percentage of troublesome
minorities.
Lets start from the northernmost state.
1)Jammu and Kashmir-
This
name is the byword for separation........a state that has dominated the
headlines for violence and seccesionism ever since independence.
Over
8,00,000 military and paramilitary troops have to be kept to keep this
state in India ,over parts of which ,both pak and china cast covetous
eyes.
If ,god forbid ,India is ever likely to lose any state , it is going to be thisssss....
Of
course , if only the population of the state realise it , the state has
the beauty to be the switzerland of asia ,as far as tourist potential
goes ,especially in this era of an opened economy. So many of my friends
and relatives would like to go to Kashmir , but for the violence
there........recently when the violence was down ,one of my friends did
sneak a trip in ,to find that the beauty of the landscape has not been
lessened by the violence........and on coming back found that the
turmoil there had again started.......
The hindus have already been kicked out from the valley ,and live only in jammu and udhampur districts.
Kargil has shias however , and these want nothing to do with pakistan ,considering the persecution of shias there.
Ladakh has buddhists who are loyal to india and therefore will resist any attempt by pak and china to capture it.
Peripheral state ,do I even have to say it ??
2)Himachal pradesh--Core state ,even the buddhists in lahul and spiti.
The state has no muslims ,so that helps.........
3)Punjab--Though
it sends a lot of men into the Indian military ,and above all is a very
rich state ,the past record of seperatism still haunts this
state.......I will have to call it a peripheral state.
4)Uttarachal--Core state ,with a very high percentage of upper caste hindus
........also sends many into the armed forces.
5)Haryana--Core state, made up of tough jat peasantry.
Muslims kicked out at the time of partition.
6)Uttar pradesh--Gangetic heartland of India ,the very core of this nation.
But illiteracy ,poverty ,overpopulation means that its contribution is very less than what should be of a core state........economically not core at all.......in fact ,drags India down ,can be called a major reason for making India a poor country
7)Bihar--The
badland of India ,hellhole of caste wars ,private armies ,endemic
corruption..........I will leave it for echarchans to decide if it can
be called core.
8)Rajasthan--Though
the super-rich marwari community comes from this state ,and the some of
the rajputs live in fine palaces, the rest of the state is poor and
illiterate.
But it sends lots into the armed forces ,and is a peacable state.......core without a doubt.
9)Madhya Pradesh--Has low muslim population ,and is peaceful.......core state.
10)Gujrat--The economic powerhouse of India ,having a growth rate surpassing China's........
Core state........
It
is ,after all the home state of the maha-chutatma of the country , who
gave the direction to the country both politically and socially,by
making it a maha-soft nation which forever kowtows before the diktats of
muslims ,and whose 50 years ago policies still reverberate across the
land.
On a more happy note , it also gave Vallabhai patel ,who unified the country.
..........and thus ,for better or worse , this state has played a major role in creating the India of today.
Its
population ,of course drives the economy of other states as well, thus
contributing more than their fair share of nation-building.
11) Maharashtra--
Fountainhead
of hindu nationalism ,ever since the days of shivaji to more modern
times which gave such luminaries of hindu nationalism as Tilak ,Savarkar
,Golwalkar and Hegdewar and Thakeray.
Has Mumbai , the economic capital of India.
Core state.
12)Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand --
Both have rich mines , but are plagued by maoist violence ,which is the greatest internal security threat faced by India.
Both are peripheral states.
13) West Bengal--
Its progress has been stunted by decades of communist rule ,which saw major corporations leave Calcutta.
The
commies also invited the bangladeshis in ,to increase their vote bank
,with the result that muslims became nearly 30 percent of its
population.
And with that ,also goes its chance of becoming a core state.
For
the muslims continue to pour in ,and the hindus are running away from
the districts bordering bangladesh ,terrified of the violence unleashed
by the mafia gangs created by the newcomers.
Calcutta or no Calcutta , this is one peripheral
state--the huge hordes of muslims coming ,indeed pouring in raise the
specter of muslims being majority of the population here ,and the hindus
fleeing into refugee camps inside ' India ' !!!........as if West
Bengal is not India !!
14) Northeastern states--
All are peripheral states.
Most have some problem of insurgency one or the other way........to be honest I am not fully conversant with the details.
Assam has the bodo problem ,also a huge bangladeshi immigrant problem ( again !!).
Manipur
is '' the easternmost outpost of hinduism '' ,according to someone who
forgot the indonesian island of bali , but there is separatist movement
here too.
Whenever
someone comes to nagaland ,they ask if that person has come to nagaland
from india !!!.......apparently ,the nagas didnt know that there was a
nation called India when they were joined to India ,they had lived a
completely separate life ,doing headhunting ,and were shocked that now
they had been made part of it without asking them !!........they still
cant believe they are indians , and are perpetually in revolt.
Ditto
for mizoram--american missionaries converted the mizos to christainity
during british rule ,and they dont want to be part of ' hindu ' India
---they would rather live their life of sex ,drugs and rock and roll
,something that is common for the more westernised youth in the
north-east ........the ' chinkas ' are noted for this in campuses of
Delhi , where the ' chinki ' girls are considered ' easy '.......
Tripura has a huge Bangladesh immigrant problem ( here we go again !! ),being surrounded by it on three sides.
I dont know any thing about meghalaya.
Arunachal
is abolutely loyal ,it being the only state to have accepted hindi as
the language in order to assimilate into india ,but lives under the
shadow of the chinese dragon .It is the last outpost of tibetian culture
on earth ,with the lovely monastary town of tawang being a seat of
tibetian buddhism.
Sikkim too lives under eyeball to eyeball confrontation with China .
All north-east states have huge army presence ,also of paramilitary forces like assam rifles.
15) Orissa--
Is poor ,and has maoist problem ......core.
16) Andhra--
Andhraits are rock-solid Indians ,thought there is a naxalite problem here too
Cyberabad is IT center........DRDO contains many telgus.
Core state.
17) Karnataka--
Both kannadas and andhraits have no problem with north indians , inspite of having dravidian culture.
Mightily congested Bangalore is IT capital.
CORE.......
18) Goa--
The
christian community converted by portuguese rulers lives amicably with
the marathis here ,and is haven for pleasure ,parties ,beaches ,bold
babes in bikinis ,foreigners and fun.
Core.
19) Tamil nadu--
Its people have antipathy for north Indians ,and hindi is practically taboo on the streets of Chennai.
Yet it is peaceful ,progressive ,and contributes to the economy ........CORE.
20) Kerala--
Its people call the picturesque state god's own country , but whose god ??
This
big-ticket tourist destination has a hindu population barely passing 50
percent ,which ,needless to say is dwindling day by day.
21 percent is christian , but some 27 percent is muslim.
Alarmingly ,jehadi organisations are active here ,and al-qaida is active here ,calling it jehad's southern outpost.
I will leave it to echarchans to decide if it can be called core or peripheral.

course ,its a hard ,hard thread.......not meant to hurt anybody's
feelings ,but not meant to care for anybody's sensitivity either , in
the search for the truth..........

is meant to search for those states whom we can depend upon ,when the
nation is in real trouble ..........those states , from where our nation
can get strength ,draw upon reserves of energy ,recruits .........those
states which will themselves remain stable ,indeed make an extra effort
to remain so in times of trouble ,while making that extra effort to
hold the nation together.
for
example , if war breaks out on the frontiers ,which are the states from
which the army ,paramilitary troops can be withdrawn without fear of
trouble breaking out in those states ??
in
which states can the population be relied upon to maintain the peace
even though the army ,the paramiltary has been withdrawn ......where
forces maintaining law and order have been temporarily weakened bue to
national emergency ,but the population , knowing the gravity of the
situation ,deliberately makes that extra effort to maintain calm ??
and
in times of peace too which states contribute more than their fair
share in nation -building .........and which are the ones that drag it
down ??
