i sometimes get official communication from india written in this sms-ese. young people seem to think it's perfectly alright to use this sort of writing in official communications.

it's interesting they want to save themselves from typing characters in "you", "your", "answer", "see", and "at" but they are gratuitous with question marks. funny.

What's scary is this sms-ese is seeping into mainstream communications especially with young adults these days. A couple of months ago when I visited the fb page of my niece I saw a lot of this and called her about is. She laughed it off saying I was getting too fuddy duddy. So much for that!

i'm sure merlot will soon stop by and call me just that. but i refuse to sms-ese even when i send out text messages. my offspring think it's cute. they're probably too polite to say what's really on their minds.
