A lot of Hindu priests in America are bunch of frauds. I know one guy who worked in a temple in Richmond, VA who managed to bring his brother on the religious visa. The brother was not employed as a priest back home. He just memorized some mantras and regurgitated them when the people at the consulate questioned about his knowledge of vedas etc.

Now both brothers are U.S. Citizens, free lance as priests, own homes and drive expensive cars.

The story proves that if there is a loophole in law , it will be ecploited. In this case, if there is no hole, some try to make a hole. Misuse by these greedy results in normal people being harassed.
