Where do you get your news?

I use Google News as my primary source of news, and I also visit HuffPo from time to time. During election season I used to visit a few other sources, like RealClearPolitics and Politico, but haven't gone there in months. I like Google News, but of late I find that it think thta it has learned a lot about my news interests, and it only shows stories that it thinks I will be interested in. Just because I haven't clicked on a news headline doesn't mean that I don't want to see that kind of headline later; sometimes the headline is good enough for me. So I am wondering if I should change my sources of news. What online sources do you use for the news?

I also use Flipboard on my phone and find their news, technology and politics feeds to be quite good. The HuffPo feed on Flipboard sucks.

i have became so dependent on google news that i hardly read the print papers in detail (except the economic times) or visit twitter. i find newspapers' news a day old! i did not know about google customizing your feed!

I prefer not to be at the 'bleeding' edge of the news cycle - Times, WSJ, Economist, theHindu, occasionally Slate, frequently google News searches - stalkerish in-depth primary source docs browsing. And alternate sources - such, fb, twitter streamed links.

On a regular basis, check the headlines- breaking news in my Fb page feeds (US, India, International) in that order from all the news junkies:)
*Or I may check:
CNN, Huffington Post, Yahoo (for US News)
The Hindu, The New Indian Express (for India News, esp. TamilNadu news).
Local Newspapers (for State and Local News).

*If I have time..like to go to BBC, NPR..magazines like Time, NYT, Newsweek. Salon..and others. I do like Entertainment/Sports news too..may go to ESPN and others. When I want to be amused go to Buzzfeed (*interestingly they are left leaning- can get all the "trending" news items - breaking news there too!)

Oh, I do like to see what conservatives like David Brooks, David Frum,Peggy Noonan, Ramesh Ponnuru and a few others are saying. Just like I watch Jaya TV and Kalaignar TV..(Fox and MSNBC in TN- if you will!) to see their versions!

I gotta check out Buzzfeed. HK, Google certainly does customize what you see based on what you have read in the past. I don't like that notion very much. I believe Facebook does that too. I never used FB for news. Of course, I do rely on Rishi, Uppili, et al myself, particularly for India news. I really like Google News India -- it also has a Telugu edition that's really good.
