Apparently Azam Khan was the head of Kumbh Mela Management Committee.

I am sure Samajwadi Party has beat every other party including Congress in its "Secular" Credentials.,

Let us wait for the day when "Secular" Saudi Arabia appoints a Hindu to head the management of Mecca Pilgrimage.

Azam khan is unusual but has precedence. Ysr, former cm of ap tried to appoint a non hindu as executive officer of tirupati. He backed off after protests.
When will hindus learn that self direction does not work in large gatherings. How many pilgrims died in last five years in various indian hindu feztivals. When are they going to learn and institute simple safety principles. It is a shame on hindus that they cannot have large gatherings without tragedy.

First of all a hindu will not be allowed in any committee of any muslim even/organization - let alone lead it. Secondly, if there were deaths in such festivals the hindu member would have been fatwaed and beheaded.

So, I think it is only logical to ask for prosecution of Azam Khan and with the punishment of death by bebeheading.

Haven't people died in stampedes in Mecca pilgrimage as well? Regarding the dead pilgrims - they died doing what they love and cherish. It is no different than a surfer dying at sea or a mountain climber perishing in the snow.

There is a huge difference in a mountain climber's death and devotees dying in stampede. While the mountain climber takes all the precaution/training/knows the risk before trekking, the accidents in mountain not due to lack of safety or stampede. It is mostly due to nature.

Devotees are not educated/aware of the risks/safety associated with space/crowd and administration's total lack of preparedness for this kind of gathering. No devotee would love to die in a stampede voluntarily. IT is the mistake of organisers and lack of knowledge of saftey/risk awareness among public.

Anyone who has been to any famous temple in India knows about the excessive crowds, pushing, and possible stampedes. So devotees know and assume the risk when they go to holy places during peak times.

what does having a muslim or christian in a management committee have to do with anything? I guess all the rest of 'accidents' that happen in India are also happening because of practitioners from other religions?
