i have rarely heard "take a decision" used in the u.s.; it's almost always "make a decision."

let me answer this since i too laughed at it. jerji's corrections are often accompanied by sarcastic commentaries; sometimes involving NIs and sometimes ms uma of guNTur. but his corrections ought to be appreciated nevertheless. in PP's comment it does not appear that he does not appreciate jerji's correcting -- he did not call him a grammar nazi etc. after all.

this is the called nitpicking.

I am glad you asked. I like to make fun of bigotry, because I think that serves a good purpose. Among the people who have made the transition from old CH to SuCH, I find Jerji to be the most bigoted of us all. Sure, this is because worse bigots like Gyanputra and Gyaaputra have not made their way here. But whatever the circumstances, Jerji does have the distinction of being the most bigoted member here. His bigotry extends to the majority of Indians, in terms of both religion and regional origin. It has been expressed in terms that are impossible to explain away as anything other than bigotry.

Now, indulge me and and answer my question: why does it bother you so when I mock him?

I am glad you asked. I like to make fun of bigotry, because I think that serves a good purpose. Among the people who have made the transition from old CH to SuCH, I find Jerji to be the most bigoted of us all. In my opinion, one of the worst bigots on this forum is PP--he is guilty of espousing regionalism and regional chauvinism, while all the time attempting to conceal his biases and prejudices from others. PP has no credibility whatsoever with respect to his repeated attacks on JM.
