Seva,

This evening, I ran into a guy whom I thought was from some Arab country. He had hooked nose, very very light skin, kind of blueish eyes. His face also looked like that of some guy from Syria or Lebanon.

It turned out that he is from Himachal Pradesh. He said that almost everyone here thinks he is from the middle east.

Do people from HP look very different from fellows in Bihar or U.P?

Himachalis come in all colors, shapes and sizes (seems like the effect of epigenetics -- http://education.sulekha.com/genetic-testing-issues-in-the-study-of-ancient-population-migrations-in-india_594422_blog)
There is even a guy running a dosa-coffee place on the roadside about 3 miles from my village who looks like a typical Tamilian. Btw, most of the people in HP look like Indians in other places, Bihar, U.P., Karnataka...
