That same article talked about the others too, but I can't recall if the others lived in the SoCal as well. The article caught my eye, because there was a rumour in india when I was growing up that all of them had died. I guess it probably got started with the 'evil eye' nonsense that makes its rounds in India often.
P.S> I think our Maria can beat this Maria hands down, in terms of cheerfulness

I have seen and liked the movie. But I am not a cult like fan of it to bother about those actors. The fb article that I lifted this pic from mentioned how all the characters are still alive, so I thought hmm. Maybe that's something special, specially to fan #1 M here

Thanks Tracy, if it was for M!
I did see parts of the reunion show not too long ago, so had some idea how the cast looks now.
The Sound of Movie is certainly a classic-great movie..but am not a cult fan or #1 fan..people often associate me with the name- their perceptions of some similarities with maria's character-persona! Which is not a bad thing at all!
Oh, that's very kind Kris, thanks. A lot of credit for the "real" cheerfulness..goes to this Maria's Capt. Von Trapp too for the loving support, esp. putting up with the annoying exuberance and optimism, irrational friendliess/friendships, never giving up etc:)

>>> A-ha, I knew it. I had a feeling you broke into song in public often. Speaking of Von Trapp, they wrote some good lines for him. Remember the early morning scene when they are trying to leave. The Commandant is lying in wait for them and turns on his headlights and says something like: 'Colonel, you haven't asked me what I am doing here, I haven't asked you what you are doing here' to which Von Trapp retorts 'Evidently we both suffer from a deplorable lack of curiosity' . I love that line.

Yes, I do remember that..Mr. Plummer's deadpan humor..he has aged well with his majesty and humor intact too..was very good in the role of the Dad in "Must love Dogs" (must have been in his late 70s)..reciting "Brown Penny" by Yeats..
