It looks like the big thorny issues have been resolved between business groups and labor unions, and the outline of a deal on immigration has emerged. A lot of things can still go wrong between now and a White House signing ceremony, but I hope they get the deal done this year. I am also curious about provisions to relieve the stress on employment-based green card applications. I know several people who have been waiting many years and have no line of sight to when they might get a green card. It would be great if those cases are all dealt with in the next year or two.
