I really like the idea of this thermostat... http://www.droid-life.com/2013/04/01/quick-review-nest-thermostat-is-my-favorite-android-accessory/#more-103370 but think $250 may be too much for a thermostat. Does anyone have experience with such "smart" thermostats?

if it can do all the things it is claiming too, 250 is not a bad price in colder regions. you can decide if it is useful n sf.

I am waiting for an app that will tell me in $ and carbon emissions, in realtime, a score of my life till date. It should list top 10 ways my immediate choices will save money or planet or both. It should be linked to Watson V which in turn maintains, approximately 20 'constants' that I can tweak at certain points of time in my life which will dictate how Watson advises me every step of the way in my life telling me what to do next. May be the app should be called 'god'.

At the very least if your entire electrical consumption at home isn't linked to internet and allows you to sys manage it through the web, mobile, I wouldn't go for incremental gizmos.
