Ordinary Pakistani is paying the price for ISI misadventures
Another terrorist act in Peshawar. 34 killed.
Terrorist groups that were initiated, financed, nurtured and trained by Pakistan's Military intelligence ISI were now paying back their masters in kind. HUJI, Taliban, Al Qeida etc. indulged in killing massive number of ordinary Pakistanis at an unnerving regularity.
It is sad to see ordinary citizens getting killed while govt is completely impotent to capture or kill these terrorists. At the same time, ISI is still playing the double game of fighting the terrorists in public and organizing them behind the public eye.
Will ISI ever stop? Is there a force on earth that can destroy ISI to save Pakistani citizens?

Hey TBT,
Welcome! The root cause of all this is the obsession with India. It is almost like there is no identity beyond "we are not india". Add to that the feudal mindset and the military becoming the gov't (de facto), it is a recipe for disaster. ISI will not stop. Any cessation of thuggery will be short-lived and you will resumption of the usual tactics, once america turns the spotlight on something else. It would behoove India not to let its guard down.

People can try, but the ISI will stop them well before any chance of success. The Pakistan story has multiple layers of Frankenstein written all over it. At one level, the ISI is Frankenstein and terrorist outfits are their monster. At the next level, the Paki Army is Frankenstein, and the ISI is its monster. At the next level, the Pakistani establishment is the Frankenstein, and their "Islamized" Army is the monster. And the next level, the US establishment is the Frankenstein and the Paki establishment is its monster.truthbetold wrote:Will ISI ever stop? Far from stopping any of this nonsense, the Paki Army is actually distancing itself from the US. See this: https://such.forumotion.com/t1204-angry-and-depressed-paki-army-chief-swears-off-us-military-aid

Well said.
Truth is trapped in those two sentences. One other player in this (fake) mystery is China. It plays a sinister role in instigating Pak Army and keeps the border burning for India. Average Paki who acts more on religious fervor has to realize the importance of economic growth. I am more hopeful that Syria will move towards democracy much faster than Pakistan.
