What if a Muslim is chosen as the PM of India?
I am not talking about communal leaders like Syed Sahabuddin.
I am talking about a Muslim who would run the country in a professional manner. This guy Salman Khurshid seems to be a good candidate.
It would shut up communal Muslims for a while.

Re: What if a Muslim is chosen as the PM of India?
The self proclaimed Sunni Muslim leadership who speak for the community are always communal and will remain communal. (AIMPLB, Shahi Imam, Kamal farooqi etc.).
I do not know about this guy's administrative skills. But his policy outlook is disastrous
In dealing with China he has basically put India in a position where the Army conceded something just for the Chinese to withdraw and worse, it has been projected in the media with Chinese connivance as an Indian victory. The truth came out in economic times that India has dismantled its forward observation posts in Chumar, overlooking an important Chinese road built in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir illegally ceded to China. The rest of the media was parroting the government line that India did not concede anything.
Regarding Pakistan this man has got no sense of history, which is an essential requirement for somebody in foreign ministry especially when dealing with Pakistan, which repeatedly needles India expecting India to be forgetful. This man is naive and talks about Visa free travel and free movement of people, completely ignoring the Political Islamic doctrine and venom driven Islamic Supremacist education in Pakistan. He also ignores ill will among a large constituency of its people and army towards India, and the terrorists and their financiers who seek to Islamize India. Doing this between a non-secular Islamic state like Pakistan and a secular country like India with Sanatana Dharm based religions will be a big mistake. Ultimately strong leaders work based on clear principles, and this man does not seem to have them.
Worse he seems to think that he knows everything and has ambitions to rule India. A man can be a Muslim but first and foremost he needs to understand the security issues of 85% of population of India who happen to be Non-muslim. India is in a very difficult part of the world surrounded by Islamist countries.
Read these two for a good history of the communal mindset of Political Islamists of India. The website makes a case that Indian Political Islamist and their communal mindset, prevents reforms in Muslim personal law, and that it is backward compared to even other Muslim majority countries. A PM should know and understand all these issues, because they form the bulk of the origins of Communal riots in India. It is the basis behind a bulk of its internal security issues, that any future PM would have to deal with.

Sanatana Dharma and Secularism - Part 1
The main difference between Hinduism and Semitic faiths is this: Semitic faiths made their tribal, local God, the only God and they separated nature and the universe from man and God. This approach created a psychology among the followers that we see throughout the history of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Some say they copied monotheism from Akhnatan of Egypt. This is wrong. His monotheism is similar to Hinduism. He suggested that the Sun is the metaphor for the power of God as in its presence, plants grow, animals live in comfort and there light for the world. Semitic monotheism is just a modified version of a tribe worshiping a local "graama devata". Semitic faiths can not embrace secularism or science while being faithful to the fundamentals. History shows clear examples of this behavior.
Unlike Semitic faiths, Hinduism incorporates local Gods, universal Gods, NATURE and man into its philosophy. Consequently, attempts are made to create harmony between all these. Local issues are examined at the universal level and vice versa while incorporating the one who is examining into the mix. Such a culture is naturally conducive to secularism, science, logic, etc.
Now, our most brilliant fukular SuCh scholars might come out of the woodwork and complain about the caste system, superstitions, war mongering (in Bhagavadgita), etc. They are as brilliant as the ones who practice caste- and religion- based atrocities.
Let me leave it there.
