What pisses me off is...
I mowed my lawn and left the grass piled up at several spots. Since it was windy and toradoes were expected I knew the grass would fly off.
My front yard tree was down, basketball board down, Chimneys got damages, neighbors sidings damaged due to hail, and then I notice the cut grass piled at various locations all still sitting at the same spots.
Life is not fair.

Your Holiness, on the plus side, you avoided a trip to Oz.

Yes it is unfair. I waited about Two weeks to put the weed killer granules in my yard. Was either waiting for the grass to be cut or simply didn't get the time. This Saturday I somehow squeezed in the time out of an otherwise busy day. It's not supposed to rain for 24 hours after the application. It was cloudy, but rain was expected only 24 hours later on Sunday morning. So I labored and applied the weed killer. Then I took a shower. And then, it starts to rain. And it rained for full 24 hours after.

Why didn't you watch the forecast on tornado's path. If you did, you could have carried grass piles to drop in its path. Use weather report wisely, so next time you can carry out your trash along with grass piles.

Pal..the severe low pressure was right over my house.....at least in our neighborhood...that is why it knocked down THE major trunk of our front tree.Leaves from trees all over the neighborhood.......
and then this grass piles on the ground.

Of course, as you could guess...I forecast weather myself down to my local street and dont depend on the meteorologists...

There is another way to look at this U.
Nothing wants to move-fly away from you..the grass piles..even the bb board and tree just fell and remained in your property..I have seen the mighty winds lift up the "immovable" and they land so far away! So, basically you are stuck with everything..from grass piles to people:D..nothing/no one is going anywhere, must be your powerful magnetic presence:)
Seriously, glad you are ok and there is not much damage (relatively speaking). I used to joke about tornadoes, and driving bravely in the middle of nowhere without taking cover..nowadays, I don't.

LOL
Yes, life is unfair. You need to buy a mower that collects grass. I've never mowed a lawn...but just my 2 cents.

I bag...but this time due to my laziness, I let the grass grow like typical KS Tallgrass (1 foot high - at least). So got a high school kid to mow the lawn - and the dumbo did not bag it. Next day wifey bugged me to rake it. Of course, she started it and took a break after 10 min...(never returned, as usual).. I ended up raking and collecting it at vantage points for my wife to bag it. Of course, her break never ended and later in the day pointed at my mistake of not bagging it.. Then the wind, tree, hail and the grass pile.
It is as though all are in some kind of conspiracy against me.
P.S. I am not responding to Nilamma out of fear of you know who...
