Why can't they accept the Muslim DIL and Hinduize her?

The Hindu man is afraid that if he accepts his DIL, the parents of the Muslim girl will make his life miserable.

The Tamil Muslim guy is threatening the Hindu man that if his daughter is not returned, he will kidnap the sister of the Hindu boy.

The Hindu parents are afraid for their lives and they are afraid for their daughter.

The Muslim mother is demanding that the boy should convert to Islam. Otherwise they won't accept the marriage. The talk show host wondered why can't the girl remain as Muslim and the boy as Hindu. The Muslim mother replies that the Muslim community will shun her family and will not let provide burial rites to each and every member of the family.

I did not see the video... was the family Brahmin or non-brahmin. I have seen very few Goundars and naickers converting to islam to marry. Muslims dare not challenge them. The muslims know the brahmins and few other FCs) WILL buckle and adapt slummish tactics.

The Hindu parents are non-brahmin. Actually poor working class.

The mother fell at his boy's feet, begging him to leave the Muslim girl and come back to them. Obviously they are afraid for their daughter and their lives.

My heart goes for that family.

IMO Hinduism is surviving because of these people. Not because of pseudo-secular brahmins.

The boy is 21 and the girl is 20. Both not having beyond high school are innocent and decent.

BTW I think Hindus should discard the caste thing when it comes to marriages. Other factors may arise like class, education etc.

As long as she does not push Islam on her husband and his family, that itself is being "hinduized."

It is the intolerant Muslim who demands conversion to his faith.

Moreover, she was the one who was after the boy. The mother of the boy went to her high school, held her hands, told her "imagine these as your feet. I cannot fall at your feet in front of others. Please leave my son alone." The girl would not listen.

If TN Muslims do not want their daughters to ever fall in love with Hindus, they can easily prevent the situation by demanding their women wear burqas, have separate schools and live in their ghettos.

The Hindu parents do not want their son to convert. The boy does not want to convert. And the relatives of the Muslim girl are threatening they will kidnap the Hindu boy's sister if the girl does not return to their house.

whom are you up in arms against? please calm yourself down.

i watched the video, but there are things in it that i don't fully understand. as far as i can see, the couple stand firmly together, and want to be left alone to live their lives independently, without interference from their parents. that's a reasonable desire, and under the circumstances, admirable.

The host did the great job and said the right
thing during the last 2 min. But, the rest of the video she seemed to
badger the young couple and the girl in particular.

The young
ones were the real gems and mature while both the parents played like
typical parents on the emotions. The girls parents were TYPICAL muslim
fanatics - yeah the non-bombing, peaceful type. Who cares if the they
are not given plot to bury after their death. Cremate them. There is no
place burial place and even then their buried bodies will be desecrated
by future developers in 50 years. The hindu mother also is stupid about
last rites, bcz it is all a simple switch. They are placing undue
importance to post-death - and pre-marriage and forgetting the present.

The
muslims mom was lying about the girls permission for the planned
arranged marriage or the girl might be lying. But, to me it seems like
the muslim mother was lying and seemed to be dump the blame the dead
grandmother as a back up. The boy's mother was magnanimous in accepting
the girl without conversion, but the girl's mother was being a tyical
muslim. The girls muslim parents are forcing the young couple for the sake
of religion and community and the boys parents due to fear and economic
hardship.

In Indian marriages, it is rare that the parents and the young
couple all wholeheartedly agree (I know of a family friend whose family
right now comes close to the ideal situation - one daughter love
marriage across caste with parents support and another daughter arranged marriage). Either parents have to ACCEPT the decision of the young couple or vice versa. Better the parents give in bcz after all
everything is supposedly being done for the ultimate happiness of the
children.

JM's question, can the girl be hinduized The girl has a bindhi and
that is all hindus care. there is no priest to dictate or threaten the
girl bcz girl does not have to do anything else.

The MAJOR issue
will be when a new baby is born and how the young couple deal with it.
Islam even allows hindu spouses to live as hindus but the children MUST
be brought as muslims - no ifs and or buts, and that is when the muslim
spouse (usually the wife) shows her ugly head. I have one such couple
here. (married for 25 years and the mother insisting on all their muslim
children to marry only muslims).

P.S. 1 The young couple should move to Madras or at least Coimbatore
have a couple of kids and allow things to cool down for 5 to 10 years.

P.S. 2: Forget about men treating women as objects. Most societies treat women as objects to produce kids to keep their respective societies flourishing. That must change.
