Bitter as in lacking sugar or overroasted beans making the coffee too strong? I usually have their caramel machiatto and it tastes good.

I don't go to Peets. I go to Philz, which is the best coffee shop for coffee snobs. They grind the beans for each cup after you order it, and ask you to taste your coffee before you walk away, so they can get it just right for you.

ok, so based on nevada's pic, I am reflective and also indecisive. In a world of unknowns, I like the safe pick. I am also happy and energetic. I claim to love coffee, but really I just love ice cream.

I like peet's coffee...I've been to coffee shops for about 5-8 times in all my life in BA. I make the best filter coffee at home.

Mostly, it is like we are in the middle of nowhere and running late to arrive home and there is a option between sb and peet; I pick peets.

peet's is great coffee. after we discovered it on the west coast, we switched. we get peets at the grocery stores here in new england pre-ground or beans. our everyday coffee is peet's sumatra. the guys who started starbucks learnt the trade at the feet of alfred peet. not sure what you dislike about peet. it's starbucks that i find bitter for no good reason.

It's not coffee if you are drinking sugar and milk. Your coffee got to have a taste. Starbucks Sumatra bold is good.

here's the thing. i don't want to put down some $3000 for some fancy espresso machine for my morning joe. i want to have good drip coffee from a standard machine. we tried all kinds of stuff ranging from maxwell house to starbucks. everything sucked. peet's is the first brand we found where we can make a great cup of coffee using an ordinary drip coffee machine. they surely know what they're doing.

I only found two reviews on their website:

http://www.peets.com/coffee/single-cups/major-dickason-s-blendr-single-cups.html

I love drinking Major Dickason's at home, but I sure have been missing it at the office. I've searched in vain for anything similar to this blend that comes in a k-cup style package.

I'm very happy to have found these single-cups from Peets. Now I can have my favorite coffee at work too!

CSJohnstone , drinking Peet's since 2007 4/25/13
Sidney, NE
First, was terribly excited to see K-Cups arrive. I quickly worked through all that I had and loved them.

MDB was my favorite and I will order it again and again.

Keurig doesn't heat up the water enough...you need Vue for that - Peets K-cup is not compatible with that.

We don't have Vue. But why would Peet make k-cups, besides vue-cups, if the coffee isn't good in kuerig?

Of the blends, MDB is tolerable. As to why Peets would do k-cups, probably the answer is whatever the market will bear.

kuerig water temp issue is exacerbated if it is darker roast which Peets is.

Ultimately, if you are happy with it, thats all that matters.

one man's opinion: http://cjroo.blogspot.com/2010/07/peets-vs-philz.html.

like the guy who wrote this blog, i am not a coffee snob. i don't drink a whole lot of it. if you want you can call me a beer snob. i am not really into fancy coffee drinks with various french or italian sounds at the end. i just like a good flavorful, fragrant cup of coffee in the morning like i was used to for some 17 years at my parents' house. for a long time i tried a multitude of things in the US none of which came close to producing my mother's magical early morning brew. peets sumatra did it in the end. what's great -- she loves it too when she visits.

Wow, looks like everyone is into the latest coffee gadgetry. I still have the old $15 coffee machine from years ago. For taste similar to Indian coffee, I like this one:

Peet's coffee Timeline_1890

It is sold in American grocery stories on the west coast and probably on the east coast too.

Peet's coffee Empty Re: Peet's coffee

I normally take exactly one cup of filter coffee (Kothas) in 2% milk brought to a boil every day. Thanks to this thread, my consumption went up over the past 24 hours, by 400%. I had the very southern indian tasting filter kaapi at the local tamil restaurant with too little milk and I could practically smell the coffee powder - hated it. Always liked my milky coffees with subtle tones of Chennai. No k-cups or vue-cups in my near future.
