Have you visited Umayalpuram, Lalgudi, Musiri, Thiruvayaaru/ Tanjore, etc...

All these towns are in Trichy/Tanjore districts with Cauvery running through them. Not knowing much about Carnautic music, I remember these folks whenever I come across these names. Perhaps the river and the temple towns along these rivers served as fertile ground for literature and music.
