What is glaring is that in 1987 WC there was no helmets and in 1992 Imran was wearing a full helmet as they do now. W/o helmet, the pace mattered and only the few gutsy and technically very sound can score big. with the helmet, EVEN the Indians became gutsy and face the fast bowlers. The pace and the their terror diminished DRASTICALLY.

That is one reason I rate sobers and Rowe and Hanif and other double/triple centurions much higher in batting. They sure would have received a number of body blows in their long stay in the middle.
