Appalamma:
4,7,10,and 12 are incorrect.
Hints:
On 10 - think the recent floods and loss of life.
On 12 - think of a former handle of a present handle here
On 7 -- Some people answered Gujarat. The city that Jinnah was born is in Gujarat alright. And its name adds a great irony too.
On 4 -- Pandavas were of "chandra-vamsha." Rama was of "surya-vamsha." (gagana-adhipa-sat-kulaja). I was thinking of an Indian dynasty of relatively modern times. They ruled North India with Peshawar (Purushapura) as their capital.

Nope. Hirakud dam is the longest, but not the highest.
Up until 2006 Bhakra Nangal was the highest. Then came along a newer dam that topped it. What is that new dam?

Re: Wednesday Mini Trivia
The last major dynasty I know of whose capital was in Purushapura were the Kushanas from the first half of the first millennium. I don't know if they claimed descent from Surya.indophile wrote:On 4 -- Pandavas were of "chandra-vamsha." Rama was of "surya-vamsha." (gagana-adhipa-sat-kulaja).
