nice set, but the cluing on #12 is a bit off if you'll take a bit of criticism. the "and" put me off. i know it makes for a sharper sounding clue, but really this is more accurately clued as: wear, tear about target.goodcitizn wrote:Correct.bw wrote:

Criticism accepted. Sometimes you set the clue to throw off a little. i've been trying some old puzzles from various english papers. some of these english setters are really good, and some are really really obscure and weird. try this for example:
Agreeable company consumes port (5)
even after i looked up the answer, i had trouble parsing it. i did parse it eventually, but there is no way i'm getting that in any straightforward way. moral of the story - avoid puzzles by this setter.
