All this based on a questionable report that has not even undergone the same level of rigorous scrutiny as a university-level PhD thesis? Ouch, indeed! It's interesting to watch the blatant intellectual dishonesty of consultants and academicians due to their dislike of Modi. Modi does indeed have a strange effect on people's brains.

Here's the debunking of the report which has not even undergone the same level of scrutiny and evaluation as any academic papers do before being published and accepted: http://www.firstpost.com/economy/put-it-in-the-dustbin-raghuram-rajans-report-on-states-seriously-flawed-1137647.html

while you are analyzing the brains of modi haters, you might want to ask why your modi-mancrush pals saamiyar and rishi are suddenly showering lovvu on the new congress appointed RBI governor.

This debunking is a lazy paraphrasing of the appendix in the report itself.

The "debunking" says:

Third, and this is potentially the most devastating critique, Gupta questions the use of Monthly Per Capita Expenditure instead of using an income indicator, like per capita gross state domestic product (per capita income).

Well, the report actually shows what the index would be if income (per-capita GSDP) was used instead of the MPCE that was used. With the MPCE metric, Gujarat scores 0.49. With the income metric, it scores 0.50, which is marginally worse! By both measures, Gujarat is ranked 12th out of 28 states.

So, the most devastating critique in this "debunking" amounts to "this report makes Gujarat look marginally better than it actually is!" This is hilarious.

PS: See page 31 for the index using income metrics. Page 17 has the index with MPCE in it. Full report here: http://www.finmin.nic.in/reports/Report_CompDevState.pdf

I did ???? Unlike the PiSS group, I see positive things even in those I don't like and not afraid to praise. Check back and I was one of the earliest to criticize the autocratic functioning of Modi and likened him to Indira, who I despise for most part.

So you guys are the ones who should do some introspection on why and how you could not find a SINGLE good quality/trait in Modi...:p

Why doesn't someone post the report on SUCH so that the posters here can punch the holes in it!

You are wrong (as usual).

From my post two months ago:
Modi is confident, intelligent, articulate, decisive, clearheaded, and hard-working.

Looks like Rajan is extremely brilliant. May be he should join the CON party.
