Blame the Rich and looters friends - Racist republicans for this.

They tried to block it and went to supreme court and that was that. They should give up. When reagan was misruling the country, the republicans were whining about Dem congress the stumbling block and regressive.

Plainly speaking republicans have long ceased to be politicians. They have become more like Rashmun-like idiots.

the dems were fighting about little budget details. tip o'neill was hardly like eric cantor and company. it's not a fair comparison. they didn't ask the gipper to cancel the star wars program which would have been the equivalent of what the suicide bombers in the house are doing now.

Sorry, frog-faced wussy Iyer boy, nothing can be grosser than that fat frog-face of yours. And you even seem to take pride in it.

I think Republicans are using obamacare as a tool to create a state of instability to hinder economic growth during obama presidency.
If Republicans allowed normal budgetary process Usa should easily see a growth rate of 2.5 to 3 . Unemployment may take a little longer but economic progress would have been faster.

And what do you think about raising the debt ceiling?

What about debt ceiling ? Reagan (Regan) taught the repubs to use national debt to enrich the rich.

Obamacare is the LAW OF THE LAND. The congress job is TO FUND as they do Social security, medicare, etc...PERIOD. The democrats never held any budget process to ransom when it came to Gun control or abortion rights or voucher douches.

Just obey the Law first. Oh wait... we are talking about the republicans...I realize they are exempted.

What happens if a Katrina-level hurricane strikes Texas now? Wonder if Sen. Cruze would argue that only FEMA should be funded and restarted while the rest of the govt. should remain closed.

Republican are behaving like a bunch of kindergartners who don't like to obey the rules and fight over a chocolate suddenly forgetting everything else.

I hope the govt shut down continues for a while and again next October 14....for an even longer period.

I would like to see NYT or WaPo post a front page bold font list of "votes" by congressmen (unofficially) unconditionally supporting re-opening Government. Up/Down/Abstentions. Force the morons to own up their idiocy.

which means he can expect to run against a cock-brothers funded teabaggy in the 2014 primaries.

"Less than two days after the government shut down, there are now more than 17 Republicans who say they're ready to pass a bill to fund the government with no strings attached, giving the House the votes it needs to pass a clean funding bill."

one would hope so, but i think they've gerrymandered their way to rock solid stability in the south, basically cutting districts up to ensure comfortable white majorities, eliminating black majority regions, and their constituents are solidly behind them. they'd sooner starve and suffer from all manner of disease and pestilence than support obummercare.
