What is going on?
Jagan and Vadra are related to powerful politicians. In Jagan's case, he is being tried for corruption and in the latter's, the judges are not even interested in admitting a case against him. What is the difference? Jagan's powerful father died and Vadra's MIL is still all powerful? Meanwhile, Khemka and his family are being harassed by Haryana govt.
In the case of coal-scam, the CBI is not doing much on cases related to corruption. It is, however, interested in raking dirt at Birla and Parak, the coal secretary who tried to expose corruption. What is going on? Are CONmen trying to divert attention from the real issue? Is CBI shooting itself on the foot by going after people who are honest and in the process, showing to the nation that things will get worse if the CBI becomes an independent body (like what Anna Hazare wants)? Are CONartists and the top brass in CBI in collusion - like PVN and Shibu Soren?
Laloo is now a convicted criminal. He should be treated as any ordinary prisoner. How come, CONmen (including Pranab's son) are visiting him in jail against the jail rules, in public view? How come Laloo is getting VIP treatment in jail and even after the media is reporting on this, there is no change? In fact, the news is that CONs are planning on having an alliance with Laloo. Some media houses are worried that Laloo may not be safe in jail!!!! So, what is going on? In what way is this CON behavior different from what mafia don Dawood Ibrahim is doing?
Is India governed by a mafia of corrupt people?
Garibi Hatao?

"political prisoners" are entitled to preferential treatment (VIP treatment) as per law which includes separate cell, home cooked food, tv and newspapers. the media is not ignorant of this; it is merely trying to sensationalize the issue. in fact, in a curious case in west bengal, the kolkata high court granted "political prisoner" status to convicted maoists! the WB govt. now has to change it's law to delist maoists from its category of political parties.Vakavaka Pakapaka wrote:Laloo is now a convicted criminal. Hmm... Interesting. Why should politicians get such preferential treatment? Is this similar to them getting the z-class security and several cars, etc., while being free and looting govt. funds?Brigadier HK (Retd) wrote:"political prisoners" are entitled to preferential treatment (VIP treatment) as per law which includes separate cell, home cooked food, tv and newspapers. the media is not ignorant of this; it is merely trying to sensationalize the issue. in fact, in a curious case in west bengal, the kolkata high court granted "political prisoner" status to convicted maoists! the WB govt. now has to change it's law to delist maoists from its category of political parties.Vakavaka Pakapaka wrote:Laloo is now a convicted criminal. Apparently, a political prisoner can't organize meetings discussing with people on political matters. If this is the case, how come he is allowed to use the meeting rooms in jail? I read that he is having meetings on a regular basis with up to 15 people at a time. Sounds more like he has just shifted his office to the prison. He may well be plotting to make more black money while being in jail for doing the same in the past.

There may be a law but only established politicians get this special treatment. Other political prisoners are housed in dingy cells with lizards and dirt.

Re: What is going on?
this is true and a clear violation of the law. but you can circumvent it like how mukesh ambani does when he calls upon modi and in his reply to the media, says oh! it was purely a courtesy call; no business or politics were discussed. (mukesh has openly expressed support for modi and is paying the price by oil grilling or maybe that is what triggered this.)Vakavaka Pakapaka wrote:
