India goes soft bcz it thinks SL will go with pakis and Chinkus; afriad of Nepal, beggarddesh and even Burma bcz they will side with chinkus and Pakis. India should learn from China and force SL and Beggardeshis to behave and also threaten them not to look to pakis/chinkus. Despite being so soft, it is still accused of being belligerent. India might as well act like a bully towards its neighbors.

I still think India has leverage in the short term in terms of trade and of course, at the end of the day, Communist China is not exactly the best of friends. In the long run, there is a lesson to be learned here: if you want to be a superpower, even a regional one, you are not going to get there or sustain the status by reacting to foreign policy matters in a defensive manner.

Are we moving the goalpost here? Aren't majority of SL tamilians terrorist sympathizers just like those UMMAH members/supporters in Gujarat.
