Does India need a social revolution?

A bollywood star runs over a child while speeding? Nothing happens. A government official has looted tens of millions of rupees from the state treasuries? Nothing happens. People in the west that complain about "the double standards justice" of "corrupt politicians" and "corrupt bankers" over the "common man" would have a seizure if they were to see the absolute Indian double standards of justice for "highers" and "lowers". Caste mentality is SOOOOOOO deeply embedded in the Indian psyche that it simply overwhelms that which opposes caste. One of the primary reasons for the emergence of Sikhism in India was because Sikhism espouse equality of all men/women. But in the centuries since the emergence of Sikhism, Sikhism is now divided by caste. Christianity found adherents amongst Indians because of it's egalitarianism. But caste overtook Christianity in India and now churches are attended along strict caste lines. Islam is a philosophy of strong egalitarianism but it too is divided along castes in India. THE harshest critics of India are those Indians that have traveled to modern industrialized nations such as those in North America, Europe and East Asia. Those Indians see with their own eyes how advanced and modern those nations are and it upsets them of how backward and economically undeveloped India IS. That IS why you see India commenters living in Europe or North America as being the harshest critics of India.
I've said it many times: India NEEDS a social revolution. The vicious caste-derived mentality of hiearchy WILL stunt India's economic development. India will NEVER EVER join the ranks of a modern industrial nation as long as mentality of "hiearchical standing" poisons the minds of the Indian people.

Yep, similar to the "class system" here (though not as prevalent), where a Texas kid with millionaire parents kills 4 pedestrians while DUI, hires a great lawyer who convinces the judge that he suffers from "affluenza". The judge grants him probation via rehab in a a posh California clinic.
Posh Texas kid = rich Brahmin
Innocent Texan bystanders = poor low caste Americans.
Different terminology and country, same situation.
