Good question
Prabhu let me congratulate you for writing an editorial that looks patriotic on the face of it. But you have chosen to brand all those opposed to DK's hiding behind diplomatic immunity as traitors which is a totally biased view. You have derived your conclusion that money (or rather Dollars) is the force behind for not supporting her which is an insult to many of us. We too respect tri-colour as much as you. Please note if Indian government had taken such a strong stand (in protecting) an ordinary Indian citizen everybody would have supported the government. In many instances in the past Indian government let down Indians in USA -for eg. a pregnent woman was hand-cuffed and paraded for H1 visa violation. Where were media and government then ? Even inspite of that I beleive every Indian supported the Indian government's stand only with regard to her humiliating search but not in her avoiding US courts. If DK violated US laws a judicial enquiry should be held at least in India now.-

>>> The pregnant Indian woman who was on H1-B visa handcuffed in Texas fifteen years ago in an Airforce Base in Texas. INS made a terrible mistake.

Re: Good question
>>>Excellent comment. Prabhu and others like him in the Indian media are unable to see that mature people make judgments based on facts. The only thing that was seriously off-putting in this whole episode was the manner in which this was handled, which doesn't translate into absolving the woman of all wrong-doing. As to this gentleman's statement about DK being tried in India, well, I wouldn't hold my breath over it. For chrissakes, she won't even stand trail for stuff she has pulled on Indian soil. Why are we talking about crimes in other lands?Rishi wrote:Prabhu let me congratulate you for writing an editorial that looks patriotic on the face of it. Re: Good question
I can't, for the life of me, understand this logic of failure to protect ordinary Indian citizens. There is a big difference between here. DK, being a diplomat, however evil she may be & for better or worse, was representing India so Indian gov't had to respond/protect her. She was in this country on an Indian mission unlike SuCHers. How hard is it to understand. Did anyone in India or the US care about this : An Indian couple in Kentucky has been arrested for illegally bringing Indians into the US and making them work long hours for low wages at their fast food restaurants.
