Non-IITian likely to be the new C E O of Microsoft
....The Hyderabadi attends manipal - the first donation college in India, then gets a degree from Univ of Wisc - Milwaukee (rank #300 may be)...is going to be the new C E O...
Did he attend Raghuram Rajan's class when he did his MBA at U Chicago (may be is one of his references?)

Simple.
This guy most likely from a rich family in India, He went to Hyderabad public school which is like "Doon School of SI." He was already somewhat westernized.
He is intelligent and smart. Most importantly, he got acculturated in American society. He is Americanized.
Even if you had gone to IIT, if all you do is to go spend 4 hours everyday and the entire weekends at Siva Vishnu temple, eat curd rice, recite Vishnu Sahasranamam, listen to M.S. Subbulakshmi, you are not going too far in career ladder in America.

Satya 's father was a highly regarded ias officer in central govt pool. Satya is a down to earth hardworking type of guy. very observant of his surroundings but quite guy. he is also very focused on his goals .
he is facing huge odds. he has to energize one of the most successful revenue operations in the world. i hope his product skills help him lead the company.
congratulations and best wishes to Satya.

Is he related to the present Speaker of the AP Assembly, Mr. Nadella Manohar and the earlier CM Nadella Vijaybhaskar Reddy?

Yeah, looks like he is like Kiran Kumar Redday, a Rayalaseema family in Hyderabad. So, will KCR ask him to "bhaago"? Will Kavitakka and KD Rama Rao demand "protection" money from Microsoft in Hyderabad?indophile wrote:Is he related to the present Speaker of the AP Assembly, Mr. Nadella Manohar and the earlier CM Nadella Vijaybhaskar Reddy?

Are IITians CEOs of any major global organization? I can't think of any. During the dot com days, IITians got easy funding from VC firms, thanks to TIE. Nowadays, are IITians doing any better than non-IITians in the US?

Apparently, his family is from Guntur. So, KCR will shout louder when he says, "bhaago".Vakavaka Pakapaka wrote:Yeah, looks like he is like Kiran Kumar Redday, a Rayalaseema family in Hyderabad. >>>Indira Nooyi may come close to that model, but I doubt this is all she does. If the person is smart and is a team player and seen as contributing value, doors open, regardless of what school he or she went to. If the guy is not comfortable in his own skin about who he is and has made this 'American vs. foreigner' aspect a core issue he is still grappling with, he is not going to instill confidence in anyone.Rishi wrote:Marathadi-Saamiyaar wrote:

Why does that last part remind me of His Holiness?

Satya is not likely to have cultural problems. he is very well adjusted.
his main task to find a way to design new products to create new revenue streams for msft. not an easy task.

IITians have a huge network in the valley. There are many VCs & entrepreneurs who are IITians. Nobody give a shit about TiE anymore. It is for old people.

I'm sure all the IITians know each other and have their own version of kitty parties. But are there many IITians in the valley who are influential decision-makers? Most of them seem to be stuck in the same middle-management rut as non-IItians. In fact, non-IITians seem to be better positioned to move into key positions (such as Satya) than their IITian counterparts.

>>>There is an IITian who exactly does what I said above. He has a Ph.D in Finance. But was a disaster at workplace. Once he went on and on about how he studied for JEE to get into IIT.
