So who are these tribal people who are scoring high on Mensa tests?
Are they the lost tribe of Isreal? Relatives of dispersed Ashkenazi Jews?

TBT,
I am not surprised by the results of the Mensa tests which showed that the tribal girls were very intelligent.
Btw what is this thing about Jews having the high IQ?
The truth of the matter is they are very aggressive in their chosen fields. It is a cultural trait.

Re: when you research Ashkenazi...you end up with....
tbt - what do you believe? do you believe IQ is hereditary? do you see any conflict with tribal children in India scoring high on Mensa?
and while we are at it, why don't you tell us what the "mask" is and how you are "uncovering" it?

TBT comment - Rishi, Is this a question/comment? or Are you asking me a question? Assuming you are asking me a question, why are you asking me that question?

TBT Comment - I am trained to wonder about outliers. In this case it is a positive surprise.
and while we are at it, why don't you tell us what the "mask" is and how you are "uncovering" it?
I am trying to understand the motives of why someone would post the list in the first post of this thread?
Now the other question:
IQ is hereditary. Obviously not. IQ is just a measurement technique.
Bonus question? (you have not asked but for some reason i feel somebody wants to know)
Are some groups of people smarter than others? Is intelligence a hereditary characteristic?
I do not know. I have some beliefs that I constatntly test and refine. I will add more details in subsequent posts.

Petrichor,
To continue my post above:
Here are some observations:
1. Tam Brahms are the most successful brahmin group in educational achievement among Indians.
2. Marwadis are most successful businessmen among Indians.
3. Patels of Gujarat are the most enterprising among Indians.
4. Maharastra Saraswat Brahmins are the most arrogant group of SOBs.
What do they tell us about intelligence, skills, success and happiness?

BAC calculator Formula:
BAC% = (A × 5.14/W × r) - .015 × H
Where:
A: Total alcohol consumed, in ounces (oz)
W: Body weight, in pounds (lbs)
r: The alcohol distribution ratio, 0.73 for man, and 0.66 for women
H: Time passed since drinking, in hours
So for BAC to be low, guess what has to be high.

In an earlier post I made 4 observations.
It may sound corny but I am interested in understanding the success factors of groups like these so that they can be extended to the wider society.
Based on my limited research broad success factors fall into categories such as hereditary or genetics, cultural, individual effort or hardwork, external environment, and random events of life.
I look for cultural traits or techniques such as learning and reading habits of tam Brahms or financial accounting methods of marwaris or networking of patels that can be identified and transferred to other groups willing to learn and gain from these techniques.

Re: when you research Ashkenazi...you end up with....
tbt - it is a fraught topic and you seem to take a pragmatic approach which is similar to mine. My interest was in considering Amy Chua-Rubenfeld theories on culture and what that means for these variations including things like IQ. While I had dismissed their theory especially as it applied to "cultures" as unfair profiling and stereotyping, the more I listened to them either through their Tom Ashbrook interview or critiques coming from all over (Slate, Times etc.), I was trying to see what exactly one can glean from their triple package theory. And to me, it felt more and more to be identification of the individual's traits that would help them reach their fullest potential - a weird combination of superiority and insecurity, together with impulse control seemed like the ticket. Now the source of superiority may be rooted in culture, place, language, sex, race, organization etc. etc. The insecurity might be an acute sense of "drive" or hunger. And here I agree with the position you are taking - there are different groups that use different tropes to give them that source of superiority. To mock those is only to invite further 'studies' documenting this or that superiority metric. If the main criticism of the triple package theory is that it has the building elements of racism then that is a fair point. It seems that if you have "arrived" as the Asians have in campuses around this country, it is no longer acceptable for you to discuss the "source of your superiority" in public domain. These are matters that must be whispered indoors to little kids to create the fierce "drive" that Chua is privileging over all else. More later...

By the way what does your handle mean?
I am not well versed on the triple package.
I may be somewhat instinctively biased against hereditary theories because that reality means we are dealing with material that is limited in supply and non transferrable between groups or individuals.

google is your friend
And yes, in reality we may be dealing with only half a deck of cards - let the data/evidence/studies lead us where they may - i have yet to see large-scale repudiation of well-done and cited academic studies. it may be better to work with the cards we are dealt than wring our hands trying to prove the studies wrong, yes?
