Man tortures wife, tries to marry her aunt, arrested
CHENNAI: A man who tortured his wife, forced her to watch pornographic films, and attempted to marry for a third time found his schemes undone after landing in the slammer on Sunday.
Arrested by the Tambaram all-woman police on Sunday, Mohamed Ali alias Sivakumar, 33, told investigators he had worked in Malaysia for a few years. While working in that country, he met the uncle of 23-year-old complainant Sumathi. Ali told him that he had no parents and asked him to look for a bride for him. The uncle suggested that he marry Sumathi.
Soon after they got married in a temple in 2009 and set up house in Lakshmipuram, Chromepet, Ali started forcing her to watch porn films and sexually tortured her, a police officer said.
Ali then started a relationship with Sumathi's aunt Senthamarai, 43, and wanted to marry her. When Sumathi asked him to end his relationship with her aunt, Ali demanded three sovereigns in gold and 2 lakh in cash from her.
Things got even worse when Sumathi learned that he had married a woman before she married him but had deserted her. When she thought her life could be in danger, Sumathi lodged a police complaint.
A police officer said Ali started going by the name Sivakumar to avoid first marriage being detected.

(This reminds me of the homework back in school. All questions answeres would be right there in the books' text). All you had to do was copy it down neatly.

Reading this article reminded me of a TB woman who married a Muslim guy and then later came to know he already had a wife. This lady has a Ph.D. She was from a lower middle class family. Her father died when she was young. The family was struggling living hand to mouth. She was the eldest in the family; her mothers and younger brothers could not find a TB man to marry her.
Time was running out. This woman met the Muslim man in a post office. One thing led to another. They both secretly got married in a registrar's office at Saidapet in Madras. Her family came to know and the brothers disowned her. Still her mother visits her secretly whenever she goes to India.
After the marriage, she came to know the fellow already had a wife in his native place. I think she is reconciled with that fact since he lives with her permanently, so far.
Anyway the news article evoked this TB's life story in my mind, so I missed the fact Ali started going by the name Sivakumar to avoid first marriage being detected.

but venkateswarulu, I call tamil Brahmins "TBs" only when I deride them. With the strong likelihood that you are yourself a tam brahm maybe you should refrain from using it and even worse promoting it???
