Got stuck in the morning traffic, in heavy rains, and had to endure 45 mins of crappy radio. Six blip-blop-blah FM channels here and not one with any news or views - just non-stop Bollywood crap and airheaded RJ chatter.



What I'd give to have NPR here.

If you have itunes, you can listen to NPR on it. Of course, it works when your laptop is connected to web. Do they sell satellite radios in India? I don't even know. Also check some desi AM channels for news.

When I returned from the US, i used to listen to the familiar terry gross and laxmi singh (or some such) for some time on iTunes. Now i don't.

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't explore AM channels.



Anyway, will go back to downloading npr podcasts in the mornings. I spl miss On Point.

I have a service called AOR on Android. It lets you listen to live streams of hundreds of radio stations from around the world. It is very useful on long drives. I don't know how good it is on 2.5G networks, but it's great on 3G.
