You cannot avoid Hindi in India
Forget about the Delhi airport. Even in H'bad , even in very high-end restaurants , all the wait staff are NI's who speak only Hindi and cannot understand English/Telugu. I am guessing that it is a similar situation in Chennai.

You got it wrong. it is not about importance of unifying language but SI's being forced to speak Hindi.

Ok I'll wait to say I told you so.
Also, please note I called it a debate. So there will be folks speaking for and against the OP.

the congratulations is for the thread already begun, because she expects it to be endless. yes i know, weird punctuation.

Hyderabad is f*cked up that way. No, you don't see that in Chennai. You hardly hear any Hindi there. Every Marwadi, Sardarji and all north indians (or any kind of indian) living there speak fluent tamil (they don't have an option but to learn tamil).b_A wrote:Forget about the Delhi airport. I hope Seemandhrites will emulate tamilians.

Just to clarify,
I can speak/read/write hindi reasonably well. But Rashmun's hindi agenda driven posts in SuCH/Sulekha totally turned me off against it and made me avoid hindi as much as possible.

Thanks Rashmun
Since you are doing an effective job here, I will return the favoe by giving you a pieve of advice. Don't open your mouth in the streets of Tamil Nadu (example-the post about Jayalalitha's weight issue). You risk severe beating.
