Modi is transforming BJP into another congress, admitting all corrupt party hoppers, and himself into another Indira-style autocrat. Modi is using RSS as a vehicle to catapult himself as an "undisputed" maharaj of (congress-like) BJP, while the RSS is letting him have his way hoping they can use him as a vehicle to capture power.

Modi demolished the RSS base and its leaders in Gujarat - for ex. Sanjay Shah, Praveen Togadia, Haren Pandya - and became Raja of Gujarat. Despite this RSS dumped all the established RSS loyalists - Advani and Joshi - and backed Modi to the hilt.

It will be interesting to watch who outsmarts who.

My prediction - 2018 = = 1967

History:
Indian National Congress (R) was a split in Indian National Congress, created by Indira Gandhi in 1967 when a united opposition, under the banner of Samyukt Vidhayak Dal, won control over several states in the Hindi belt. Indira Gandhi, the daughter of Nehru, and Congress president, was then challenged by the majority of the party leadership. Initially this party was known as Congress (R), but it soon came to be generally known as the "New Congress".

When Indira Gandhi took control over the national state machinery, her faction was recognized as the true INC by the Election Commission of India, although she led the organisation which was a break-away group of Indian National Congress
