On April 14, he was brutally attacked by heavily armed Jihadi group belonging to SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) while he was campaigning at Mallipatinam.

How do you know he was in a Muslim locality ? There are many areas where enough number of Muslims and Hindus live side by side. Moreover it is a politician's right to speak and campaign. If an MP candidate gets intimidated, then what does it signal to the common people? That is the idea here. This is what is done by the political Islamists in West Bengal, and the same is being done in Tamilnadu. Scare people into not voting for NDA. This has to be nipped in the bud. It happened right after AIADMK CM spoke against Modi, says it all. These guys think they have the support of Police and government for their terrorist acts. Interestingly SDPI is a Kerala based outfit and they seem to have intruded deep into Tamilnadu.

Your assertion about rights to campaign in any locality looks good in theory. But the fact of the matter is Muslims love to hack to death anyone campaigning for BJP. EC is not going to send army to protect the BJP workers. In Madurai, a Sanskrit professor was hacked to death in broad daylight by two Muslims. The Hindus may not be scared into voting for NDA. The number of TN Muslims voting for NDA/BJP will be very small.
Btw it looks like Hindus are uniting across castes to support Modi. It is a good sign.

I meant most likely the Hindu in TN who is leaning towards NDA/BJP will not be intimidated to change his decision. The Mulsim fanatics may succeed in intimidating the Muslim voter into not voting for NDA/BJP. But the number of Muslim voters in TN who will vote for NDA/BJP will be very small it hardly matters.

You cant be sure of that. Folks might want to vote NDA/BJP for their policies, but everybody is scared of life and limb. This is how the left used to win elections in West Bengal for decades. Now all those goons have moved over to the TMC and TMC is winning elections in WB. Even Seshan couldn't fix WB elections. So intimidation works. It does not remain localized to the Muslim locality,, it also spreads to some mixed localities. The only way to avoid this problem is to prohibit booth level declaration of results and ONLY declare constituency level results. With paper ballots it was easy, because you just bring all the ballots and mix them before counting. With EVM's the only way to do is network them first and then announce combined results. But any networking feature added to an EVM (even if disabled before counting) can open a can of worms. This aspect seems to be a big definciency of the EVM system. Hope some new technology comes up that permits this.

Actually, trichy is one place where BJP won its MP seat in the past. It has some strength there. Same in Coimbatore - the once commie bastion. The iSlamis did some hanky panky in CBE in 1992 and they were taught a Modi lesson long before Modi came on the political scene.
